{SØNiK} Fest and Synthetic Zero put on a joint event at BronxArtSpace (July 3-17), curating together a variety of artists who work in all mediums.

The evenings of July 3rd and 7th included film screenings and performances by some of the artists.

David Schafer performed a 30-min sound piece titled “Jackhammer”. MeKaniKdolls later joined in to perform as the newly collaborated MDSE.

“Home Listening” was curated by Bret Schneider for Mildred’s Lane, Scranton, PA. July, 2009.

Six sound artists were asked to perform their material simultaneously in various outdoor sites around the grounds of Mildred’s Lane for a night of noise. Listeners were to walk around the grounds visiting the array of sound stations, while enjoying the mixing and overlapping of the divergent sounds.

For my performance, I played a selection of previously recorded material and new live mixes.

Sound artist Jess Ramsay (of the Mekanikdolls) played a short set before and after my set.
