Live performance track available on DSE June album available for purchase on iTunes, Spotify, Bandcamp, and CDBaby.

Roulette presents a carnival of all things experimental, the Roulette MUSICIRCUS returns for a second annual celebration of chaos and the harmonies of simultaneity. MUSICIRCUS will unfold over the course of six hours with the audience invited to wander freely and choose their own sonic and visual relationships. First performed in 1967, John Cage’s MUSICIRCUS is simply an invitation for perfomers to assemble and play together.

David Schafer, MeKaniKdolls and their collaboration MDSE are proud to announce the release of two live recorded CDs.

Their “Sad Pavilion” performance from Mildred’s Lane and Schafer’s own “What Should a Museum Sound Like?” are now available through iTunes and their websites.

“Sad Pavilion” was curated by Bret Schneider for Mildred’s Lane, Scranton, PA. June 2010.

Eight sound artists performed audio material simultaneously in various outdoor sites around the grounds of Mildred’s Lane. Listeners were to walk around the grounds visiting the array of sound stations, while hearing the overlapping of the divergent sounds. The performances lasted from 9pm til midnight.

This year, I collaborated with the electronic noise duo, “MeKaniKdolls”, made up of artists Jess Ramsay and Seyhan Musaoglu. We set up our sound stations adjacent to one another, and alternated performances during the event. The 3 hour-long set included an hour performance from each of us separately, and concluded the program by playing the last hour together.
